Hebrews Chapter Seven

HEBREWS CHAPTER 7 - CONTEMPORARY ALIGNED VERSION (SPIRITCODE)

1. To sum up what we have been saying about this new high priesthood; we have such a high priest in Jesus. He has taken his place at the right hand of the throne of majesty in Heaven

2. He lives to serve in the true holy place in the real and authentic home of God, which God has established, and not man.

3. Every high priest who is ordained to serve in God’s house has to offer gifts and sacrifices, so Jesus must also have something special to attend to.

4. But if he was still on earth he wouldn’t be recognized as a priest seeing that there is still an earthly priesthood that attends to these religious things according to the Law.

5. But the things that they attend to are simply a shadow of the real and authentic heavenly things. Moses was charged by God when he was instructed to make the tabernacle that he did things strictly according to the pattern that he was shown by God up on Mount Sinai

6. But Jesus has a function that far surpasses anything that has ever been done by priests on the earth. In the same way, he is now the executor of a covenant that far surpasses any other covenant, based upon promises that far surpass any former promises

7. If that first covenant had everything that mankind needs then there would have been no need to establish another covenant.

8. He saw the insufficiency in man and said to them; “The day will come when I will establish a totally new covenant of relationship with the house of Israel and Judah.

9. It will be nothing like the covenant that I made with their fathers when I took their hand and led them out of Egypt. They took no real notice of my terms of that covenant, so I took no notice of their terms of relating to my covenant.’

10. These are the real terms of the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel when the time comes; I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts, and I will be God to them, and they will be a people to me.

11. They wont be saying to people, ‘We will teach you how you should know and relate to The Lord’, because everyone will be able to know me firsthand, no matter what ancestry or religious heritage they are from.

12. I will be merciful to peoples’ inability to ever do the right thing, and I won’t hold their sin and weakness against them any more.”

13. When he says he is establishing a new covenant, he means that the old covenant is obsolete. It has died of old age and is disappeared and forgotten.
